Jerry Xu

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Jerry Xu, founder and CEO, brings an innovative and strategic way of thinking to all facets of business. Bringing to the table over 16 years of industry experience together with an impressive portfolio which demonstrates an acute aptitude for driving business growth, augmenting operational excellence, and maximising financial return.

Having started his career in the hospitality sector, Jerry worked his way up the ranks to hold the highest offices of management. At an early age, he co-founded Metro Global which provides services that range from asset management, property management, facility management, hospitality services, procurement services and IT solutions, with over 6000 employees globally.

Jerry’s corporate philosophy is centred around the importance of people, believing success is derived from relationships of trust and respect. He considers his team, his clients and subsequently, their guests to be the pinnacle of his business and works to maintain and grow these relationships, project after project.

Markus Sigmann

Chief Operating Officer

Markus has over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry and started his journey in the industry as a Chef. In his career he worked for, amongst others, Hyatt and Sheraton in various culinary positions.

After being Operations Director and Advisor to the Board of Directors with an Indonesian conglomerate he joined Choice Hotels Australasia as Development Director and then worked for over 10 years with Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, holding various positions before taking on the role as Director of Resort Operations, overseeing operations of more than 80 properties in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. In these various roles Markus worked with owners and investors to achieve the best possible value for each asset through strategic planning and timely improvements to benefit the guests as well owners.

His dedication and passion for asset management and guest experience culminated in him being awarded the ARDA (American Resort Development Association) Circle of Excellence (ACE) Award for International Spirit of Hospitality in 2016. This prestigious award honors those that have attained the very highest level of excellence in the resort industry and whose accomplishments and dedication spur the industry to new heights.

Priscilla Tran

Chief Financial Controller

Priscilla has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, holding several senior positions. She was previously Chief Financial Officer of Hotel Capital Partners and prior to that, was Director of Finance Asia-Pacific and Director of Australia for AccorInvest, a global hotel investor, owner and operator. Priscilla was also Group Financial Controller – Corporate at Accor Hotels, Australia.

Priscilla commenced her career at Ernst & Young as an auditor in the Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction group. She was also CFO of an Employee Services company. Priscilla is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In addition to supporting the financial arm of asset & business acquisitions, mergers and divestments, Priscilla’s other achievements involved managing the implementation of new financial and operational systems, processes and policies, both interstate and in Asia, whilst leading, communicating and supporting a number of stakeholders. Priscilla also has extensive experience in directly managing a finance team.

Chris Batterham

Chief Development Officer

Chris has extensive professional experience across all areas of the hotel and hospitality industry. He has proven himself as a reliable and coveted hotelier throughout his career with an impressive portfolio of achievements across international hotel brands such as Intercontinental Hotels Group and Marriott across Australia, Japan, Thailand, Maldives, PNG, Indonesia and the United Kingdom.  Having most recently held the position of Area General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, of ONYX Hospitality Group, Chris was at the forefront of the company’s exponential growth.

Chris is a seasoned Multi Unit General Manager who has achieved industry recognition and awards for top performance across Key Performance Indices.  A key highlight being awarded General Manager of the Year for IHG.  Chris has gained significant executive management experience across multiple regions and has demonstrated a proven track record of translating initiatives from development through to execution and delivery.

Scott Walton

Regional General Manager, Southeast Asia

Scott has held a number of prestigious, high profile hotel management positions for over a decade with brands such as Wyndham, Carlson Hotels, Langham, Heritage and Sheraton. He has demonstrated extensive experience in all areas of hotel operations and business management across a broad range of countries in the Asia Pacific and China. Scott joined La Vie in 2020 to take on the role of Regional General Manager for Southeast Asia with a focus on forging greater relations with both owners and management teams alike.
